Dr Eun Hwang, Principle Dentist
The dentist whose work will never retire.
Dr Eun loves knowing that long after he retires, the work he has done will keep his patients healthy and smiling.
Completing his Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Adelaide wasn’t enough for our Principal Dentist and Director. He is currently in the process of obtaining a Master of Clinical Dentistry (Prosthodontics) from the prestigious King’s College London, UK.
His fascination with human biology has led to him working extensively around the world in private practices, as well as a Senior Dental Officer at Raffles Hospital, Singapore. He specialises in Full Mouth Rehabilitation, Management of Worn Teeth, Implant Dentistry, Wisdom Tooth Removal and Cosmetic Dentistry including Invisalign.
Dr Joanna Tan, Dentist
The well meaning and well being dentist.
Dr Joanna Tan wants to make a difference to her patient’s long term health, and she likes making this happen in a way that makes them feel at ease.
She completed a Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Adelaide; and currently in the process of completing a fellowship for Orofacial Pain and TMD from Roseman University, Utah. She has worked in both the public and private sectors in South Australia, including tutoring at the University of Adelaide dental school and volunteering with the RFDS, before making the move to Sydney.
Her special interests lie in diagnosing and managing orofacial pain, root canal treatment and aesthetic dentistry. She is an absolute asset to Boon Dental.
Dr Saerom Park, Dentist
The dentist who believes prevention is the best medicine.
After obtaining a BDS (Bachelor of Dental Science) at King’s College London, UK, and MJDF (Membership of Joint Dental Faculties), UK, Dr Saerom has worked all over the world including London, Singapore and Sydney, to gain as much experience and insight into dentistry. Whilst working at the Westmead Centre for Oral Health, she developed a special interest in treating children. Dr Saerom strongly believes that prevention is the key to long term oral health and is committed to provide oral health educations for all her patients .
On her day off, she enjoys practicing yoga and Pilates. Maybe that’s why she is always smiling.
Dr Li Anne Ooi, Dentist
The braces that fixed more than Dr Ooi’s teeth.
Dr Li Ann Ooi had braces as a little girl, and their ability to change her life, inspired her to become a dentist.
Obtaining both a Bachelor of Science (Adv) and Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of Sydney, she then went on to work in Canberra, honing her skills in general dentistry, RCT, prosthodontics and extractions. We were then lucky enough to have her at Boon Dental.
For Dr Li Ann Ooi, the most rewarding part of her job is getting a patient out of pain. Seeing someone happy to be able to eat again or smiling into the mirror is why she studied so hard. When she isn’t at the clinic, you can find her enjoying coastal walks, reading fiction on weekends and binge-watching her favourite TV shows.
Dr Pearl Sirichai, Dentist
The smile maker
Dr Pearl has a love of all things creative, and finds creating smiles the ultimate expression of her creativity. She studied Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Adelaide and has a MBChB.
Her experience is as varied as her talents. She has worked at the Westmead Centre for Oral Health, and is also incredibly proud to be an Honorary Fellow at Westmead Children’s Hospital. Maybe Dr Pearl has gone so far in life because she believes that you should “treat others as you’d like to be treated.” We feel fortunate to have her at Boon Dental.
When she’s not at work, Dr Pearl is probably happily playing with her Samoyed puppy.
Lisa Kim, Dental Assistant
A dental laboratory changed Lisa’s life.
A visit to a dental laboratory several years ago was all the inspiration our lovely Dental Assistant Lisa needed to realise that she wanted to help people. She saw the skill, effort and time that goes into dentistry, and so studied Dental Technology at TAFE, which provided her with the fundamentals of the job.
Lisa says the most rewarding aspect of her job is helping patients get out of pain, and educating them on the importance of a healthy and consistent dental routine. Seeing a patient leave with a smile on their face is why she keeps doing what she does, and only wants to get even better at doing it. In fact, she loves it so much that she says she can’t imagine working in any other industry. Her personal ethos being “if you want it, you have to earn it”, and she certainly lives by this.
Dana Balosache, Receptionist and Dental Assistant
A sense of humour and duty.
Dana makes people smile with her support and help and a whimsical sense of humour. Our patients in our Wentworth Point clinic know her to be both thoughtful and dedicated.
Her desire to help people is clear in both the work she does as a Dental Assistant and as a Receptionist. Dana is one of the few people who could take on two roles and do them both unbelievably well. Maybe it’s all the board games she plays in her spare time that makes her so capable.
Nicole, Dental Assistant
The little girl who got a dental check up and a career.
Nicole has wanted to work in dentistry ever since the dentist would visit her school and do check-ups on her and her classmates! She is particularly proud to work in our clinic because she is a life-long local, and loves helping people where she grew up.
Nicole brings a smile to everything she does, believing it can go a long way when it comes to making patients feel comfortable. Despite having a Certificate III in Dental Assisting, Nicole is also a super active mum, spending her free time cooking, camping and fishing with her family in the great outdoors. And somehow she manages to make it all look effortless.
Brianna Bosward, Receptionist
Brianna was born to be our superstar receptionist.
We literally could not live without her at our Ropes Crossing practice. She somehow manages to remember all our patient’s names, and often even their dog’s names!
Brianna is empathetic and understands that their are other places that you’d rather be than at the dentist. That’s why she keeps the mood upbeat and always has a smile. Her life motto is “your life is your message to the world, make sure it’s inspiring”. She gets her inspiration from as many fishing trips as she can go on and spending time with her dog.
Grace Bae, Receptionist
The never ending smile
Grace’s smile is contagious. Her positive energy is just what we needed in the reception area of our Wentworth Point practice. Her motto is “you should do what you love” and you can tell that she loves her job. We never stop hearing from our patients, how Grace helped them or made them feel more comfortable while going to the dentist.
Grace also does what she loves in her spare time. She takes every chance to demolish a good cheese platter or enjoy brunch around Sydney with her husband and son.
